EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for our FS1- Nursery and FS2- Reception cohorts.

The focus is on the EYFS – six areas of learning and development. Our teachers will base their teaching using this to plan the children’s learning and activities. This curriculum framework is created specifically for very young children, and it’s designed to be really flexible so that the teacher can follow your child’s unique needs and interests.

We still emphasise very much on learning through play. We combine direct teaching with a developmental approach – plan, explore and review – to create a structure for the learning process of young minds. Activities are planned using good quality resources including Information Communications and Technology (ICT.)

FS1 & FS2

At the Nursery stage (FS1), children will get a firmer foundation of learning in Literacy (Phonics,) Math (Numeracy) and Social Skills. All children will be introduced to basic procedures such as beginning of the day routine, end of day routine, lining up etc. This is done to gradually lead them to more structured classroom setting as they move forward into the Reception Year (FS2) and onwards to Primary School. Children will enjoy inside and outside classroom exploration time as well as story telling mat time; more activities improving his fine and gross motor skills as well as more exciting theme based activities. They will continue to play and explore, be involved and start to develop creative and critical thinking skills having their own ideas and choosing their own way of doing things.
